Jack felt a chill when Logan left the room. He stood by the door, eying Luke and the stranger. He hadn't had a chance to ask who the guy was. He must be a mutant.
Luke didn't seem to be in trouble yet. That wasn't fair at all. Jack ran away to save the other students and overtaxed himself escaping Logan. Luke ran away out of petty cowardice and Logan hadn't said a word to him. What was so important about Luke, that he was exempt from the rules?
(OOC: The twist is, Jack was in more trouble because he is important.)

Luke knew something was up. He knew enough to know that kids weren't allowed in this room. So if Logan had to keep them here instead of just sending them to their rooms or something, he probably had something to say. But to leave them here with a creepy stranger? What if this guy really was an enemy? It would be so easy for him to kill Luke and Jack and attack the X-Men from inside.
Well, Luke knew his powers were formidable. Apparently it was some sort of gravitational ability. But was he a match for Jack? Come to think of it, Luke had never really seen Jack's powers in action. He wasn't even sure what they were.

Screech looked around, simply amazed at how good the placed still looked. He remembered it all from nine years ago, still an endless amount of hallways and rooms, and this made him wonder how long Logan would have to search for Xavier. "So," he said, turning to the two kids, "Do you kids know who Scott is? How's he doin' these days? He and Logan still at each other's throats?"

Scott? Luke seemed to remember the name popping up once or twice. As he understood it, he was one of the X-men before he died somehow. Luke never learned how. "I think... he died."

Screech took a good ten seconds to realize what he had just been told. It was impossible, completley absurd. Scott... dead?! "H...how did this happen?"

Pearl knew she wasn't supposed to come down here, but she couldn't help it. It had traveled fast through the grapevine that Luke was back. She didn't have to talk to him. She just wanted to see he was ok. She didn't want to upset him worse. She still wanted him for her own, but she now realized she was part of the problem...not the solution yet. Nevertheless, she wanted to know he was alright. She peeked around and saw Jack and Luke, along with this stranger. She caught a little of the conversation.
"Do you kids know who Scott is?"
What did he want from her dad?
"I think...he died.."
Yes, that's what Professor X had told her.
"H...how did this happen?"
She wondered herself, but she doubted that Jack or Luke had the answer.

Luke shook his head and shrugged. The guy looked almost upset. "I don't know... sorry." He had the vague idea that Cyclops had been murdered by another mutant, but other than that, he'd heard nothing of the actual cause of his death.

Jack felt an uneasy tingle in his spine, as if he was being watched. He spun around and saw the door ajar. Perplexed, he reached to open the door. Was someone sying on them? "Who's..."

Pearl looked at Jack and raised a finger to her lips, as if motioning him not to out her. She closed her eyes and spoke to him in his mind. "I just wanted to see Luke was alright. It might upset him if he knew I was here."

Jack drew back from the door at Pearl's mental plea. He glanced back toward Luke and the stranger. When was Logan coming back?

Charles wheeled into the room "Hello Luke" he said. He turned to the new gentleman in the room. "I hear you were looking for me"

As Professor X passed her, Pearl froze, terrified. How had he not seen her? Well, as long as he hadn't, she thought she might stick around and see what happened.

Screech nodded. "Yes." He was confused. "Don't you recognize me, Professor? It's Trent. I know it's been almost a decade..." He trailed off, getting back to the subject. "I wanna join the X-Men. I should have when I graduated, but I made the wrong choice." Deep down, he wanted to join, because he was sure that being a member of the X-Men would make it easier to track down his parents' killers. Also, it would perfect his powers. He could be unstoppable. He knew Professor X wouldn't read his mind without permission, so his thoughts were safe. He added before Professor X answered, "Professor... is it true? Did Scott die?"
