Emma could hear the inner dialogue within Pearl. So she wanted to off Dream, too, hmm? It was a shame that Door's friendship with her daughter was cracking at the moment, but she could certainly use this.
Emma spoke to Pearl telepathically: "There is a way to get everything you want...win back Door, and Luke, and get rid of her, you know..."

Pearl jolted, looking timidly at Emma. "What? What are you talking about?"

"All you'd have to do is help me to take out Dream..." This was going to be too easy.

"What do you mean 'take out'? Kill her?"

"No I don't mean that we HAVE to kill her. But you do want her out of your way, don't you? She's taking away your boy...and your friend...isn't she? All you have to do is persuade Luke to continue to lead her own just long enough to yank the carpet out from under her. It will snap her heart in two...and you will be there to pick up the pieces of Luke and Door. You just have to endure the pain a bit longer, my dear. And I will help you any way I can. I just want to make up for not being there for you.."

Door looked from Emma to Pearl. What was going on? There was something...odd...in the air between them.

"thank you...I guess you're right..." She looked down into her lap. Could she do this? Would she? It did seem like the most sensible way, but was it?

Dream was feeling nervous too. If it wasn't for Door's hand, she would have run out of the room.

"I wonder if your classmates will be along shortly..." Emma sighed, glancing up at the clock. Two minutes and they'd all be late.

Dream glanced nervously at the door. It didn't look like anyone else was coming. At least she had Door.

Emma wrapped her nails a few more times against the desk, glaring at the clock as it tick, tick, ticked away. "Ok, they're late. Let's begin," she smiled to the tiny class as she rose, pushing her chair back with the backs of her thighs.
"This is Mutant History 101. I know it's not the most exciting class, and I'm probably not the word's best teacher. However, it's important. Each one of us has a past, and each one of us has a future. The two are intertwined irrevocably. We must understand the pasts of those around them to understand them as a person..." she brushed her hair back with her hand, coming around the desk and leaning against the front.
"So for today's class we're going to delve into our own histories. I want you to realize how little you know about each other, and about mutant history in general. I want you to come up with three statements about your past: two truths, one lie." She half smiled. Maybe this woudn't be so bad. If only there were more kids. "I'll do the same for me...and for general mutant history. We'll go around the room sharing our statements and vote to see what we think are the truths and the lies." She looked at them in the eyes, "Sound fun?"

No, this did not sound like fun. Dream had not had a very pleasant history, and she had tried to keep it as private as possible. She looked at Door - she could tell she was even more unhappy with this set up than she was. Well, she hadn't had a great time of it either. And Emma had been a major part of that.

"Alright. I can see you're a little uneasy about this. We don't have to get too personal. I'll start...so you can get the hang of it. Alright?" she was really trying to play up the loving mother and mentor card. "Ok. Here are my three: I was born the midde child of five. I graduated highschool at seventeen. I was once held prisoner for ransom, which my father refused to pay."
She eyed the kids, wondering which they woud pick. The first and second seemed normal and the third ludacris, but did they know which was truth and which a lie?

Door glared at Emma. The first one was untrue, but she thought it best to wait, and not get too smarmy just yet. She glanced over at Pearl. This was HER mother. Maybe it was time that she learn something about her mother. She looked at Dream, she oubviously wasn't jumping to participate. So the ball was in Pearl's court.

Pearl wasn't sure what to pick. She knew Emma had more than a sibling or two, so the first could be true. She also knew the normal age to graduate highschool was either seventeen or eighteen depending on birthday...and she didn't know if Emma's birthday fell after mid to late May but before September. The third....well she hoped it wasn't true, but it might shed some light on who Emma really was. She didn't know which to pick, so she looked to Door who didn't seem to be answering anytime soon. And Dream...just looked antsy, figured. Why was no one else here?
"Well I hope the third is the lie," Pearl finally mustered.
