R.I.P. Penny Frey April-ish, 2003 - July 23, 2009
Penny, you were a great little friend. The sweetest calico guinea pig I could ever love. You were the oldest of my pets, and our six-year bond will never be forgotten. I'm still in shock, but tonight, when all I can do is think, I'll think about you, and I'll cry for hours. I'll miss the way you squeaked every time someone rustled a grocery bag, eager to be fed. I'll miss the low chirping purrs you made when I petted your head. I'll miss your giant brown eyes and your golden tummy, your warm ears and the way you'd curl up to sleep.
Penny, I'm sorry. I know there were a lot of accidents and a lot of trauma I could have prevented if I wasn't so careless. I'm surprised and happy that you lived as long as you did under my care, and Now you can eat gourmet lettuce in Heaven until we meet again. It doesn't seem fair, but at least now you won't cry anymore in the night when your back hurts. This is gonna hurt me a lot, but I'm happy for you. You made it against some of the worst odds, and now you're free. No more nails too long because I didn't trim them for you, no more broken teeth because I was stupid and wasn't watching you close enough. You're free now. Free, honey. I'll see you again some day, sweetheart.
I love you.

I'm so sorry. I know she's waiting on the rainbow bridge for you. Nothing can really ease that pain, I know, but I hope it will get better in time.

I have so many waiting at that bridge. I know I'll see them again. I can wait forever in this hell if I know I'll see them again. It's all that keeps me going sometimes. Thank you.

I don't know whether to enjoy that or not... because thinking about her makes me filled with anguish, but thinking about how happy she must be right now, and that makes me happy. All the same, we'll eventually see her again...
