Zombie noticed him avoiding her eyes, and laughed. "I have eyes, not knives." She said smiling and putting her finger under the word she had just finished reading.

Jack tensed up again. "Sorry." He didn't look up though. The tabletop suddenly seemed so interesting.

Zombie busted out laughing. Taking action into her own hands. She turned and laid her back on the table so her head was on the table where he was looking. "Your very quiet, like a Turtle. You know that right?" She asked him with a raised eyebrow and smirk.

He looked down at her blankly, then shrugged. "Maybe. I'm warm-blooded, though." He realized after he said this what she was implying. "Oh..." What was he supposed to tell her? That he didn't like people because he'd been left in the snow to die? He didn't want anyone knowing that. It was bad enough that the teachers tried to get him to remember what had happened to him. Especially that Jean woman. He hadn't meant to freak out and scare her, but as soon as she'd tried to get into his head he'd been unable to control himself. All he knew was he was on fire and he wanted her to stop. He shook his head, shaking the thought from his mind. Jean Grey was a nice person, she'd just misjudged how he would react.

"Your nervous?" She asked slightly confused when she saw the color of his Soul change. She didn't think she was that frightening. But according to some of the other students she was. Oh well, guess she'd have to live with that now wouldn't she. "It's cool." She said and slide back into her seat to pick up where she had left off on the page.

Nervous? He was more than nervous. He was edgy, scared, he was torn apart. He just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up to reality. He would have, if Logan hadn't saved him. He cleared his throat. "I should go... I need to... make my bed." He stood up to leave.

"Oh." Said Zombie face dropping a little. Once again she had scared someone else off. She tried to make sure no one saw it. But it was a little tough sometimes. She was so use to having her other eccentric fun loving Family around.

He felt a tingling sensation in his chest, that quickly turned to a feeling of hurt and rejection. He didn't know what it was, but he knew it wasn't coming from him. He glanced up at Zombie and knew, from the look in her eyes that her face was hiding, that they were her feelings. He hesitated and realized that despite his fear, he had no right to be cruel. He slowly sat down. He kept staring at the table, but muttered, "Do you... need company?"

Zombie looked up as she heard Jack speak and smiled what she thought was reassuringly. "Non Merci. No thank you. Go..." Said Zombie making hand gestures awkwardly... "Make your bed." She said unconvinced. She figured it was all an excuse.

He nodded and stood up. He walked out, but still felt her upset emotions lingering.
