Phoenix {Jean and Logan}

[Jean Grey]

Jean had only been working in the lab for about a half an hour - but already she was having trouble focusing. What was the matter with her? Deep down, she knew, but she couldn't let herself go there. For all she knew she was back to normal, but...after what she had done...how could she be sure it wouldn't happen again? Who else could she hurt? Powers or not, how could she have done it in the first place? And Scott...beautiful Scott...

Could the rest of her life resurect like the Phoenix she was?

[Wolverine]

"Hey." Logan entered the lab and greeted Jean quietly. He'd come down to check on her. She'd seemed preoccupied lately. "What's up?"

[Jean Grey]

Jean jumped. It was so unlike her. "Logan, you startled me." She said. She bent down to pick up her things. "Nothing much. H...how are you?"

[Wolverine]

"I'm fine." Logan shrugged, holding back a snicker at the fact that he'd surprised her. "Actually. I was wondering how you were doing." He was sure it had to do with Cyclops. She'd lost him the worst way, too.

[Jean Grey]

"I'm...I don't know how I'm doing Logan. I'm...I'm so confused. It...it's not just Scott." Jean stood up, she was almost right up against Logan. "Did you mean it, Logan, when you said, we were talking about Rogue..." she brought the memory to his mind:

Wolverine: How is she?
Dr. Jean Grey: She's fine.
[pause]
Dr. Jean Grey: I think she's still taken with you.
Wolverine: Well you can tell her... my heart belongs to... someone else.


"Did..did you mean that?"

[Wolverine]

Logan didn't answer at first. He looked down at Jean. She seemed so torn. So miserable. He wished he knew how to make things right. He did all he could do, and answered her.

"...yes."

[Jean Grey]

Jean looked up at him, she was crying. She leaned up, and gently gave him a kiss...
