Pearl's mouth fell open. What was going on? Did Luke just deck his own teammate? Was it because he hit Jack? Pearl rushed over, grabbing Luke's shoulder and looked him straight in the eyes. She was searching his soul, and she could see how much he cared for Jack...no matter how much of a tough and uncaring mask he put on.

"Leggo, Pearl!" Luke said, sternly but not violently. "Jerk! You totally blindsighted the kid!" He lashed ou to kick Will, but his balance was thrown off by Pearl, and he missed and almost fell over.

She grabbed onto his elbow, thinking he was going to fall over, but seeing him get his balance quickly let go. "I'm sorry." she put her hands down by her side, taking two steps back.

Logan shut the simulation down, scrutinizing the kids. "Alright, that's enough." He sighed, dragging his fingers over his face in an exasperated manner before striding over to them. "Fer future reference, kiddies, yer only supposed to attack the guys on the other team." He put his hand on Luke's shoulder pointedly, then jerked his head toward the door. "Alright, git out. Tomorrow before lunch is the next simulation. And that time, you all gotta learn something. Don't make me give you all homework." He dismissed them and lit up a cigar. What was with these kids? Storming out in the middle of class, attacking team members. Insane.
